Long-Range Optical Wireless Information and Power Transfer

Simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) is a remarkable technology to support both the data energy in era of Internet Things (IoT). In this article, we proposed long-range optical system utilizing retro-reflectors, gain medium, telescope internal modulator form resonant beam, achieving high-power high-rate SWIPT. We adopt matrix, which can depict beam modulated, resonator stability, transmission loss, distribution. Then, provide model for harvesting receiving, evaluate SWIPT performance. Numerical results illustrate that simultaneously supply 0–9 W electrical 18-bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency over 20-m distance.
